Tekniam installed its RUCS solution on Ocracoke Island, North Carolina, funded by the State of North Carolina and the Hyde County Commission. The RUCS solution connected the central businesses to the Internet, while providing back-up emergency communications for residents. Located roughly 18 miles off the coast of mainland North Carolina, and nearly 13 miles in length, Ocracoke is a major tourist destination with thousands of day-trippers and vacationers.
